High School Student-Athletes

Passion to play

Sports are a big part of your identity and play a leading role in your life.

You have what it takes to take your game to the next level. The high school recruiting process should help you identify programs that match your skills, potential, expectations, and goals as both a competitive athlete and a serious student-athlete. That dual commitment distinguishes you and sets you up for continued success.

You don’t just dream, you achieve. You push to become a
champion in the classroom, fueled by your motivation to achieve
your potential as a student and an athlete. It distinguishes you and
prepares you for a lifetime of fulfillment. We believe committed
student-athletes like you can predict their future by learning how
to create it. Our program shows you how.

The program

Play. Learn. Thrive.

The right opportunity can determine your trajectory and shape the future you envision. We designed a recruiting and development program that supports your ambitions. We knew it was time to take a hard look at the current process, deconstruct it, and engineer a method that instructs, inspires, and motivates you to reach your goals.

See yourself in someone who paved the path before you.

A trusted mentor often becomes one of life’s greatest assets. Knowing the right person to guide, encourage, and support you in balancing your commitments, overcoming obstacles, and sometimes getting out of your own head, can make all the difference.

Some of the most thrilling college competitions
take place between D3 programs.

Take a closer look at these D3 sports:

Women’s Basketball

In Division III women’s basketball, 64 teams compete for a national title among 418 institutions sponsoring the sport. It’s a game of opportunity, competition, and balance — on the hardwood and in the classroom.

Denison reached the summit in 2026, capturing its first national championship after defeating Washington and Lee, 77-64, in the title game. The Big Red went 31-2 during the season and became the latest program to break through on the national stage.

New York University remains part of the division’s recent championship story. Led by head coach Meg Barber, a 2002 NYU graduate and former Violet standout, NYU won back-to-back national championships in 2024-25, completing consecutive undefeated seasons. In 2025-26, the Violets extended their D3-record winning streak to 91 games while again leading the nation in scoring, assists, and 3-pointers per game.

Excellence extends beyond the court. Last season’s D3 Academic All-America women’s basketball team posted an average GPA of 3.88, including two perfect 4.0s among the 15 honorees. Carroll’s Natalie Gricius, the D3 Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, carried a 3.98 GPA while leading her team to a conference championship.

Among the many standout alumni, Sonia Raman, a 1996 Tufts graduate and former MIT head coach for over a decade, became head coach of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm in 2025. Before taking the Seattle job, Raman spent four seasons as an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies and one season with the New York Liberty, bringing a Division III foundation in player development, scouting, and analytics to the NBA and WNBA ranks.

D3 women’s basketball is where balance is built. Student-athletes learn to navigate demanding academics, long seasons, and leadership responsibilities — experiences that can shape what comes next. How will you make every possession count?
