Mentorship

Find Your Edge. Follow a Proven Path.

Map out your recruiting journey with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

YD3 mentors are quintessential role models. They’ve graduated from Division III colleges and universities, competed for four years, and served as team leaders. D3 mentors believe in the transformational power of the D3 experience and openly share insights from their journey from high school to college and into their careers.

Our mentors

Leaders you can lean on.

Recruiting is complex and the choices you make shape the next four years and beyond. YD3 mentors have been where you are. They excelled in the classroom and in competition at top Division III schools, and along the way they learned what almost no one tells recruits: how a roster takes shape, what coaches really look for, how academic and financial aid work, and what D3 is like from the inside.

Now they share that knowledge with you and your family, including how to think through a major decision when you’re not sure where or how to start.

Playing at the Division III level shaped far more than my experience as an athlete—it set the foundation for who I am today. It pushed me to grow academically, personally, and professionally, while reinforcing the value of discipline, balance, and initiative. Through the relationships I built, including connections with teammates’ families, I was able to secure a job at Deloitte after graduation—an opportunity that showed me the real power of the D3 network. Just as importantly, the experience instilled in me the drive and confidence to stay engaged beyond my career, continuing to seek out and contribute to communities and organizations that matter to me.

When entering my high school recruiting years, I knew how much I valued the balance of school and sports I had in high school. I made sure to look at schools that prioritized this. When I first toured Kenyon, I saw professors grabbing coffee with students and saw amazing facilities. I knew this was the place for me. During my 4 years, I was able to lead multiple student organizations, get support from my professors, live in Italy for 5 months, and play a sport I love.

Playing DIII athletics was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. Balancing the demands of academics and athletics taught me invaluable skills that I continue to carry with me in both my personal life and early professional career beyond college athletics.

I struggled with the feeling of not being a successful athlete if I didn’t play Division III. Now, here I am, playing with my best friends, and winning a national championship.
